The Spiny Babbler (scientifically known as Turdoides nipalensis), commonly referred to as “Kade Vyakur” in Nepali, is a bird species found in the Himalayan region, particularly in Nepal. It is considered endemic to Nepal, which means it is found only in that specific geographic area. Specially It can be sighted around Kathmandu, Bhaktapur, Lalitpur area.

Once thought to be extinct, the spiny babbler is a medium-sized brown bird with a sharp beak and is shy and elegant. It feeds on insects on the ground among low bushes, appearing only occasionally. However, they can be spotted in the breeding season when the males often sing in the open It is listed by IUCN.
